Do panels work on cloudy days?

Yes, just less. Panels run on daylight, not direct sun, so an overcast day still produces, typically a fraction of a bright one. Britain has a working solar industry precisely because the technology does not need Mediterranean weather. What it does need is an unshaded roof.

What is SEG and will I get paid for exporting?

Under the Smart Export Guarantee, licensed suppliers must pay you for electricity you export. Rates differ a lot between suppliers and are not tied to who supplies your import, so it is worth comparing once the system is commissioned. We register the installation so you can apply.
